We discuss a box of ammo from the 1930's that has an unusual claim- it keeps your bore from rusting. This was done by dipping the entire bullet in cosmoline which was normally used as a rust-preventive technique for long term storage of machinery at the time. The problem is the stuff is very messy and smelly and I don't think the ends justify the means.
