We experimented with the "blunt body concept", a shape of a war head from the 1950's, using Japanese Yen coins. Viewers wanted us to see what would happen if there was a hole in the center, others wanted to see steel washers, so we'll be able to satisfy everyone here. These were travelling around MACH 1.4.
I'm not sure the best way to describe this shape, maybe a modified annular wing? Suggestions?
