Several people suggested we try driving some non-lead pellets using the nail-gun blanks. These Crosman pellets grabbed my attention because they are very similar is design to some of the full-sized slugs we have shot that use a plastic wadding as a stabilizer. Zinc is not as soft as lead and should hold up better and leave less lead-fouling - if used in a rifled barrel.
I bought the Short Lane .22 adapter on Ebay for about $20. You can also buy them here: https://www.gunadapters.com/
Though we had no issues doing this, we still say you should do this only at your own risk. They are VERY loud compared to standard .22's in case you were wondering.
