Self Defense in Germany: OK or No-No? ─ JoergSprave

A common belief is that Germans are not allowed to defend themselves. That couldn't be more wrong. In fact, Germany has the most uncompromising, fierce self defense laws you can possibly imagine.

If anyone unlawfully attacks your life, body, freedom, possessions or even your honor, you are fully entitled to stand your ground and stop that attacker with any means available to you. This even extends to attacks against others - you are entitled to step in and fight against the perpetrator(s).

You can even use illegal weapons in a self defense situation. You may be charged for illegal possession, but not for whatever you had to do with the weapon to stop the aggressor.

Of course there are many "Ifs" and "Whens" that apply, but still the law is clear. The video has a lot of details and examples.
