Shotgun slug vs kevlar vest - It's WORSE than you think ─ TAOFLEDERMAUS

I have to admit I was surprised at the results of this.
In this short video we launch an LBC Sabot slug at a kevlar vest. This is an Italian slug made by Gualandi, which THEY call the "New Palla Gualbo". However, in the U.S. retailers give it "Americanized" names like "LBC BluForce" and "LBC Sabot".

We have shot these kevlar "Second Chance" vest panels before and wanted to find a way to show just how much energy is actually going through the vest into the wearer. We put three layers of cardboard, equalling 3/4" behind the vest as sort of a make shift trauma-plate. The idea was to have a medium that would leave a permanent record of the impact without blowing into pieces like something soft like clay would do.
